Not to steal the thread but its kind of related...I was wondering about warranty on Cabelas named products. My wife bought me a nice meat grinder for Christmas that is the Cabelas brand. So 5 years from now if I need warranty work will it be honored? Cabelas customer service states yes---any input here?

Ive never had an issue whatsoever with their brand...in fact, in 5 yrs if you need repairs done and take it in to the store, they are likely to just replace it on the spot. That is what they have done for me on a couple of occasions and 1 time the issue was my fault.
I avoid Dick's and hope they fold.

I'm sure the grinders are not lifetime warranty.

Cabela's will stay Cabela's if they want to keep their market share.
Their brand is much more respected than Redhead. I wouldn't concern yourself over it.

Not a done deal. Johnny Morris put up a billion dollar earnest payment based on someone buying the credit card part of it. Citicorp backed out of it earlier this month and they are looking for another banking credit card company to take it. If they don't find anyone to take over the credit card part it won't happen. Johnny Morris cannot take on that much risk.

Yeah not done yet. One fellow I talked to that used to do business with Morris said he would be very surprised if it actually did go through.

Well, I work for a "extreme high net worth" guy that's part of the deal through a private equity venture, and it has already closed.
May be some sort of clawback provision, but the deal is closed.
