I am no longer surprised, but still amazed, how commonly hunts turn out differently than I expected. I arrived at the landowner's property more than an hour before sundown in the hopes of doing some scouting for sign and where might be the optimal place to set up for the evening. I had gotten no farther than leaning my rifle and sticks against a tree in order to figure figure out what trees I wanted to hide behind in the tree line to hunt the field when I heard noise in the woods. I thought there was a good chance it was one of the cows, but it turned out to be a boar and sow that were heading out to the pasture...

I ended up shooting the sow through the shoulder. A brief exploration of the bullet track revealed that it clipped the spine as it passed through the body, undoubtedly helping to anchor the hog in place.

Ah she had on her silky white dress for the walk in the pasture, nice shot.

It's been so long since I've hunted your videos are keeping me tethered to hog hunting bliss.
