Sunflowers are coming in good but they need a rain on them. Hopefully some coming in a few days.

I danced my butt off in 2011 and 2012, didn't do any good. May just be my dancing.

That's probably the problem. Did you put paint on your face and feathers in your hair? You can't skip the important stuff.

Well, that was a bust. For all the hype about storms and heavy rain I ended up with 1/10", that won't help much.

Sorry about no rain, but kinda glad with turkey season opening Saturday. Leastwise better than the mudfest last year.

I'd love to have a field of sunflowers to bring in the birds. Any special way to plant them? Or just drop seeds in good soil and hope for the best?

Mine are native, they were here when I bought the ranch but they can be planted. I mow the fields down during deer season, fertilize and disc in January and the sunflowers start coming up in March. The next year repeat.

All the native flowers on my spot are bluebonnets. Nice to look at but not so great at attracting dove.
