So I finally got a chance to check out Alamo Precision Rifles last weekend. Man, they make some really nice stuff. Fit & finish on their rifles was excellent. Very friendly & knowledgeable staff. I was very impressed. I'll be saving up & getting a custom rifle built soon.

I was impressed by them as well. I'm having them build two rifles for me right now, a 7-08 and a 6.5 CM. Can't wait to see how they turn out and the hardest part is the waiting! Hopefully when those are done I will have them do another one in .243.

Haven't seen their work in person, but all the pics I've seen look amazing and the reviews are all great.

I shot one of their rifles that was built off a 700in 223. With stand one armory bulk match ammo it was well under 1 moa. Solid little shooting gun.

What extractors do they use, Remington OEM, Sako style, M-16?

They built my LH 26 Nosler and my son is having a 280-AI being built by them now. Robert builds a first class rifle. My 26 shoots sub .5 with factory ammo. Can't ask for much more than that.

I thought I read on their website they only use Remington actions. I'll call them.

Or remington clones which can be rem extractor, mini m-16 or sako. You can also get a Mausingfield or defiance that are rem pattern but crf.

You can order a different action if you want, but most are Remington actions. Look at their Instagram page....lots of pictures of builds.

Thanks. The reason I asked is because I'm hoping to have the money for a custom in six months to a year and if I get one with a Remington action I don't want a Remington extractor. I've got to admit though I've never had a problem with a Remington extractor.

Not many people have, nor will. And if you do it's a simple replacement fix.

Cutting slots in the bolt head/face scares me.
