The two proof marks below are not like anything I have seen. The "circle" is left of the "22" and the bladed cross to the right. These are found behind (under) the front lug of the action. The bladed cross in a circle are also on the military style trigger. I cannot find these proofs under any countries markings. Last, I am looking for a paste or something I can rub into these can maybe get better relief. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

There are some real Mauser geeks over at mausercentral.com, maybe someone there will tell you in five minutes. Photos of the rifle might be helpful too.
