I've had lots of customers shoot without their glasses then need to put them on to read a turret, but they were far sighted (+40 crowd). I'm near sighted, but am connected for distance. In your case, if things are clear through the scope, then keep doing what you're doing. What ever I'm doing is working, I can see .22 holes in white paper, at 100 yards, and on 6X I wear progressive trifocals. Two years ago I was sighting in a couple of rifles. It was really hot that day. Suddenly I realized I was seeing through the scope better than I think I ever had. I then realized I'd taken my glasses off to wipe my face and forgot to put them back on. Haven't shot with a magnified optic wearing glasses since. Got to have them when bird hunting though.
Don’t roll those bloodshot eyes at me.

remember if you are going to shoot your rimfire under 50 yards, you need to buy a scope which will focus this close. Most will not unless made for rimfire. Like this Leupold 6.5-20X40 EFR

"Most will not unless made for rimfire".
Not correct. All of my centerfire scopes will focus down way closer than 50 yards.

Bring the whiskey. No matter who wins, we will crack it open afterward, with a backer of Coors Light.

I know that a VX-II 6-18x with AO will get down to about 18 yards or so, maybe less. I had one for sale a while back and a prospective buyer wanted to know about that. It was intended for his rimfire rifle, even. I spent a little time fiddling with it to find out. He bought the scope.

I use a ruger 10/22 with a Nikon P-Rimfire 2x7 for my limit of 75 yards but it can send lead down range at 100 yards. I rarely shot a squirrel over 50 yards.
Don't be afraid of the light it's just me.

I have a Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 on my CZ 452 .22. I put it on it out of curiosity...had the scope sitting in the gun safe...that was over two years ago. I love it! Also have a Zeiss Conquest 4-14x50 on my CZ 455 .17 and it's an awesome scope for it. Both have turrets which is really nice! I put the cheaper Vortex Crossfire 6-24x50 on my 597, it's been a good scope for that duty.

Bourbon. Give Templeton, Winchester or Bulleit Rye a shot. I bet you'll like it...

And to the OP, if you're looking for solid scopes to stretch the legs on a .22 without breaking the bank check out the Mueller APT, or Primary Arms 4-16x44 illuminated. Both are probably overkill for standard short range plinking, but if you want to shoot small stuff out a good ways they track true and have the elevation needed to get you out to probably 225-250 yds with a 50 yd zero. The glass is better than it should be for the cost, and both have parallax adjustment down to 10 yds.
