Face decoys away, or at the very least, an angle away from the direction you expect the tom to come from. It that tom sees those decoys facing him, he may think they are moving towards him, causing him to hang up, waiting.

Just a little off topic but have you ever had decoys tore up .

had 3 decoys out and after hunting one weekend last year forgot to pick them up after busting a pretty good gobbler( I was excited)

went back the next weekend and the Eyes were pecked out of the decoys all 3. one had its head ripped off & one had it tail ripped off. So just for grins I mounted what was left in some mesquite trees and came back 1 week later and they were al pulled down again and pretty much trashed.

some body didn't like the competition I guess. bang

My DSD strutter has taken a beating in the last 4 years, but still looks pretty good. I usually go through 2 or 3 fans per year. Jakes are the worst...can't hardly get rid of them once they start.
