Very good thing to do! Thank you for offering this!

When he was young, I told Dale Jr. that hunting and racing are a lot alike. Holding that steering wheel and holding that rifle both mean you better be responsible.

That's a very nice gesture on you and your hunting buddies part! cheers I have several friends that do similar and they say the reward they get out of the happiness shown on the veteran's faces makes their time and effort well worthwhile.

I feel the same way. I am a vet and have never been on a successful hunt. I have only been hunting once and that was in California trying for some coyotes and we only saw one. After moving back to Texas I have been trying to get on a inexpensive hunt but haven't been able to find anything yet.

The guys on my lease and myself are looking to pay it forward this coming deer season by taking a veteran and his family out, or possibly two individual veterans. We have a small guest house a short drive from our lease in Jarrell Texas that can sleep 4 people(two queen beds). If you or someone you know is a veteran that was honorably discharged and can provide proof of being honorably discharged, you would be qualified. Our stands are primarily tower blinds(8'-10') but we do have a couple of box blinds on the ground as well with access via truck to get extremely close to help with anyone who is disabled and needs walking assistance or is in a wheel chair. The tower stands may be slightly more tricky for that situation. The hunt would be a weekend set up(Friday-Sunday morning)and we would cook all the meals as well as clean and quarter your animals. You would still have to take it to the processor but we would start the process for you anyway. My granddad served in WW2 and I know at least one other lease member had a granddad that served as well. What y'all do for our country goes unappreciated at times, and we want to be able to say thank you the best way we know how.

So whatever happened with this?? OP posted this here and in Disabled Hunters, got lots of thumbs up and atta-boys, not to mention responses from a lot of Very deserving Vets. And disappeared???? Or did they host a hunt and just never followed up on THF???

This kind of thing chaps my hide. People SAYING they are going to do something for Vets and not come through. IMO they lose ALL credibility. I only ask one thing of people. Do what you say you are going to do. This hunt would have meant a lot to a Vet that maybe otherwise could not afford it.
