I know this is probably not what everyone is looking for but I wanted to post this because I've never heard of preparing one this way. Copper Creek restaurant in Abilene actually grills the romaine heart on an open grill. It's literally the best I've ever had.

There is a place in Cancun called Puerto Madero that does a table side caesar.....jeez. They spend about 15 minutes preparing the dressing from scratch. Egg, olive oil, anchovies, garlic....and whatever else. Best I have had.

Best one I had was in Amsterdam some years back. I asked for chicken on it and the guy looked at me like I was from Mars. I asked if they ever put something like that on the salad, and he said "yes". It turns out that they put sardines on it. Well, Ok says I. And here it comes with fried sardines the size of small crappie. Very strange, but very good.
