I found a 2016 Polaris Ranger fairly close to me with 5 hours on it.
1) do these machines have titles? 2) I was told by a dealer that I could use my AG tax exemption card to avoid paying sales tax if I buy from them. Assuming these machines do have titles, can I use the same tax exemption card to avoid paying tax when the title gets put in my name?
How much cheaper than dealer price would this have to be before you would buy it as opposed to buying new from a dealer?

Just check it over real good, make sure it hasnt been abused. Why is it being sold?
Yes it has a title. Sorry, I have no idea.
If its gonna save a few thousand I wouldnt think twice so long as it passes the test.

If bought in Texas should have a title. Depending on price you may be able to buy new for about same.

Yes to both questions.
Remember to take your dog box over there to make sure it fits in the bed.

Why do you need a title on something that is only driven off road? Does the state need money that bad? If you get a title do you get license plates? Do you have to pay a yearly fee for having it titled?

If a Polaris is what you want, the "factory new" warranty is so short lived it makes sense to me to buy a low hour used unit that has been run enough to get the bugs out if you can save some money. I see lots of Polaris stuff for sale on eldoark.com and I stopped by the Polaris dealership in Bossier City to get some parts this week and they had several used ones that looked okay but you will likely pay a dealer more than an individual. I really liked the looks of a new one with a flatbed but it had an 80hp engine and that is just way too much motor for a bird hunting rig.

I'm looking at 2016 mule pro dx. They have a 3 year warranty, the 2016 is about $1k cheaper than a 2017. And the bed is about 53" x 53".

I was shopping for a new diesel farm and bird hunting rig last fall and a dealer offered me what I thought was a good price on one so I bought it. Bed is so big I got my rig in without taking off the sides. I could not see paying $$$$ more for a brand that will not warranty their product but 6 months. Heck, 6 months of warranty on that kind of investment is like a dealer telling me, give me $15k for it but be warned it's gonna break and we ain't gonna fix it. Just be sure if you get the DX it has power steering because it is a big, heavy machine made for work.

I bought a 2016 900 when I was up in Kansas on a whim because of the price. It was under 12k out the door for it. I have a vehicle of origin title for it and when I went to register the title here in Texas I was told I didn't need to. Go figure. The warranty is a joke on the polaris line...
