Thought I would share a training session with you guys... Tara just under 7 months here, we have not started force fetch yet, that will come soon. We are behind on our training, but she will be ready by hunting season. We got plenty of time. Look forward to the off season training. up

Thanks. My kids are all grown up now, so its nice having another kid around the house again lol. Towards the end of the hunting season I would take her on hunting camp trips with me. She wouldn't hunt (I would leave her locked up in my camper), but after the hunt I would let her retrieve the ducks.

She loves the water, her she is just swimming in circles I didn't even throw her a bumper she just went in swimming.

Glad I don't have to go through another hunting season without a dog.

I knew this hot chick named Tara. And it rhymes with my last name, kinda funny when you say her full name.

That's awesome. My lab will just go for a swim, too.

Nice. I always messed up with the heel and here left right thing. I always ended up having to apologize to the dog for random jerks with the choke chain.

up!!! She'll be ready for the fall for sure!

I've gotten to where I like dog training almost as much as hunting.

Kimber is running a seasoned hunt test this weekend at Cowtown HRC near Ravenna. You should come check it out if you aren't already.

Thanks. It's very tempting, I would actually love to get into the HRC thing and title Tara but I just don't have the time. If my wife or kids were interested in participating, I would do it. Tara is going to be a meat dog, a well trained one though.

Below is my current training program (subject to change) and what I hope to accomplish before hunting season. Red is what I have completed and continue to improve on.. I'm taking my time, and we are going to nail up to 2.A before we move on to 2.B. We train twice a day, once in the morning at first light before I go to work, and after work at sun down. Training sessions are short, 10 minutes, here heel and sit, some marks (3 or 4). And give her a lot of free time, to just run around and sniff stuff.. I would also like to start doing some tanning sessions with a pro, where they basically train me.
