Went and visited with my friends Sellmark/Pulsar and spent some time with the new units that are coming out.

The new Trail and Helion series is amazing. Super compact and easy to use, nice housing and amazing image quality, particularly in the 640 XP series. Much more compact design and better mounting system than previous units.

The new Apex XQ LRF series is also really cool. These units are about the same design as the XD38-50 Apex series except they have a built in laser range finder indexed to the reticle and they all come with an OLED display. Pricing is very competitive as well.

Overall the new Pulsar lineup is going to be really hard to beat, especially for the money.

So when you zero the eifle and move the reticle, the range changes its point of ain as well?

Doubt it. Current lrf models just tell you the distance. Corrections would by manual.

Yeah it just gives you a range. Up to you for your hold. It was a real nice unit though.

He may have been asking if the LRF always points to the POA when adjusting your zero. Does the LRF poa move the zero is moved around.

It appears to always use the center of the reticle for the aimpoint. The rangefinder doesn't move or anything so I'm assuming it's probably just digitally indexed or something. In the few minutes I played with it, it seemed pretty accurate though.

Shipments start mid April. It'll be several months before they're on shelves though. First several shipments will be allocated for pre-orders.

I used the LRF in Pulsars digital scopes so to give you an idea , the aim points are independent systems , while the factory may index or coalign them at the factory to match this will not be the case of you need to shift your aiming reticle to attain a zero.

So if you shift x = +9 : y = -22 then when you activate the LRF feature a box will appear at x = 0 : y = 0 and you will need to adjust your hold to the center of be screen to get a reading.

Read the distance, go back to the aiming reticle and re-shift your weapon to your zeroed point of aim.

No auto indexing to my knowledge.

There is another thread going right now on the latest digital LRF model , that may assist those who aren't following my description here.

I have the N960LRF and the range box does NOT align with the reticle once you adjust for zero.

Mine either. But it shows the Brackets for where its pointing to give you range. Then those go away and the cross hairs show back up.

How about the mount? Anyone test for zero replication after removal and reattachment?

One thing I really like about pulsar is the split screen feature and the quick change button from white hot to black hot.

They could use some improvement on the recording quality though.

It blows my mind the level of features that are available in consumer grade thermals. 20 years ago, features like that were limited to mil gear, usually classified gear.

Amazing

You should probably visit your website. Many of your prices are off by an order of magnitude. Unless, of course, you really would like to sell me a pre-order XQ38 for $329.97.

That's the 10% down payment. It says in the listing.
