You mountain hunting guys may want to take a look at this. It works at solving the problem of keeping your rifle secure on your pack, yet readily accessible. Seems durable too but will put it to that test on my fall hunts. I am not much of a gadget guy but have tried a bunch of things to solve the problem of having both stability and accessibility. This is the first thing that has actually worked for me.

That's pretty slick if it actually works.

One thing to note is the bottom part will not fit on a wide hip belt (over 2"). My pack has a wide belt but has a smaller accessory web strap on top it fits on. Many do, but not all.

I have two Kifaru packs. I have the gunbearer. So far, I prefer this product to it. Before this product, I preferred the built in rifle scabbard on my Eberlestock J107 Dragonfly pack. IDK if this product will replace it for me or not. Just have to see....

Another option is just buy eblerstock scabbard that fits x2 and run it between bag and frame.

Also have a smaller Eberlestock with the scabbard (X1A1 I think is the name). Looking at the Nomad coming out too. Always a lot to look at and think about. Main thing this little deal provides is quick accessibility. Probably take it with me, take a scabbard pack too and go from there. If it works out good - great. If not - no big deal.

Ya I made my own out of another pack and scabbard and like it better then my gunrunner. About to sell my gun runner I think. Never use it anymore
I'm curious as to why you like the crooked horn better then gun bearer.

I'm curious as to why you like the crooked horn better then gun bearer. Just feels as if it hold the rifle more securely with less movement to me.
