I'd try Aspermont again if I had the energy and dogs.

Seems like Aspermont over to Big Spring was this years consistent 35 covey a day band, so carryover for 2017-18 campaign should be really good there.

During the drought guides around there were giving there dogs away because there had been not birds or clients for several years. Pretty amazing comeback.

Scalebuster, I live in Houston and have hunted several counties in S Tx and just a few in the Rolling Plains. Leases are cheaper and easier to find in the Rolling Plains and that is why I would to know what counties, on average, have the best hunting. If you could pick your area,as Mr Oxner did, where would it be? Thank you.

It wasn't a bad trip. We hunted on week days. We could hunt an afternoon a full day the second day, and a morning. Our dogs were about done and we were home for dinner on the third day. One guy on our lease lived in Mississippi.

We have seen a huge increase in quail the population in Dickens county in the last 3 years. Hoping 2017 will be as good. Have maintained about 7 coveys of about 20 birds on my 160 acres.
