For factory lids, Craigslist is your best bet IMO. I use the plastic lids from academy on my feeders.

I like to use the metal ones that look like a upside down bowl, buy at BPS, Academy ect. They let the barrel breath so no sweating inside and still keeps moisture out. Spring tension with two springs on sides. Never had any trouble with them.

I got my lids from the hardware store, Not "barrel" lids per se, they are the catch pans for water heaters peep I also got 2 springs and have them screwed to the barrel. Haven't had any moisture issues since putting them on 8 years ago and they are easy to push over , fill and pull back. They have about a 2" over hang which I also like.

I use these from Cabelas. You can't beat them and worth the money. Never use a plastic lid and messing with stock lids are a pain.

I once drank muddy water out of a hoof print and was dang glad to get it.

Link does not work for me.

They no longer stock it if the link is what I think it is.

I saw where donk (I think) had used a round galvanized tub as a feeder lid. I wish I could find the picture.

i hate fiddleng with a ringed lid when its cold..i just turn the lid upside down and put a heavy rock or brick on top..never..never get the lids with bolts and nuts..wrench slipped one time when i was by myself..came damn near falling off ladder..now i just lift the brick and put on ladder turn lid up.put inside drum..fill away...also..about to solve that with shorter feeder legs
