Haven't shot anything but 55gr. through my SBR. Not bad, but would like to know if I'd be improving accuracy if I went up in bullet weight. Barrel is 9", six grooves 1/10 twist. Anybody shooting through this barrel?

1/10 twist is pretty slow. Generally speaking, you will not be able to increase bullet size very much and retain stability. You could maybe get to 60 or 65.

It usually takes 1:7 - 1:9 to stabilize the 75+grain bullets.

Thanks for the info. Gun shoots way better than I expected, just wanted to know heaviest bullet I could shoot. I can stay with the 55gr V-max.

Shot some 65 gr. Groups opened up to about 4". Was with a buddy that had a bunch of ammo to burn up. I thought so, but now know so. 55 gr it is.

1:10" twist is a slow twist for an SBR rifle. With the reduced velocity of the SBR and slower twist (i.e. less bullet stability), I would keep bullet weights on the light side, 60-65 grains or less, for sure.

That's what I was thinking, but I'm good at 55 gr. Barrel is actually 8.75".

Looks like a fun rig! No suppressor?

No. It must be loud, I get comments every time I take it to the range. There is very little to no recoil and feels kinda like a ruger 10-22 when it cycles.

The people at the range are right. 5.56 SBR is very loud. I hate being around them.

It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

Yes very loud you might not be able to hit your attacker but the sound will make them run !!!!!

And i have noticed the ROs take a couple steps back when i shoot mine at carbine competition

Yes. It came with a 20 which gets in the way at the range, and bumps into everything the rest of the time. Wasn't too hard to find, one of the few US distributors is close to me.
