Make my trip in less than 2 weeks. Love Texas too but it's too dang hot and humid for me anymore. Wyoming has been the ticket for me.

I'm an electrical engineer by trade...and I know that jobs are available in Texas.
Convincing the wife to move is another story! Her Mother still is alive....so that is a big reason holding her back I'm sure.

This is a great state, N to S, E to W; we have it all and even the big cities and close enough to NM, CO, AZ, WY, AR, KS, and LA for other type of hunting. So what ya waitin fer, get on down here perm.

One of the rifles I will be taking with me to hopefully slay some more hogs. After I produced the video this morning, I have since slowly worked my way up in 0.1 grain increments. Final velocity = 2,712 fps with good pressure signs.

I'd like to see what your 45-70 does using that Lehigh Defense ammo on hogs. I think that stuff would penetrate pretty good on them. I've been thinking about getting some to use in mine just haven't done it yet. I have a black bear hunt coming up and thinking about using it on that hunt also.
