https://www.bossbuck.com/products/feeders/cs12sp.htmlAnybody use this brand? Got on a lease and I'm needed to build a feeder. Have a wild game timer on the feeder here at the house and havnt had any problems with it but looking for something I don't have to worry about 4 hrs away.... I can pick this unit up direct from them in Seagoville is my main reason for asking.
No doubt about the AR crap, just damn shame hunters don't have self control and knowledge

I've heard great things about Bossbuck feeders. For what your getting with this unit I would give it try. If the motor shaft is 1/4 inch I would do away with the spinner plate and replace it with the Eliminator spinner

I bought two of the complete solar units like you linked above back in 2010 and they've been out underneath a couple of a solid seven years . I just replaced the batteries back in November. One battery was completely dead and one was still going strong. Both solar panels look like crap but still put out the juice and both motors are still slinging strong corn. My only gripe is sometimes on cold mornings the shafts will squeal from lack of lubrication, but that's just part of maintaining any feeder motor vice poor Boss Buck quality. I think the unit will serve you well. Buy with confidence.

Thanks guys, it says on their site to add a cpl drops of oil to the shaft annually, don't know if you've tried that or not...

Just depends on what I've got in the truck at the time. I was more pointing out the need for maintenance instead of fire and forget. Good luck.

I've had one for a few years, lost a solar panel and had to reset the timer once. Overall it's been a good feeder.
Never been to a camping world. I prefer Dick's to be honest.

Thanks guys, picked one up from them this morning on the way home from the fire station. Went ahead and got one of their lids while I was there but forgot the kit didn't come with a downspout so I guess I'll be stopping back by there next week. Would y'all recommend the internal funnel with downspout built on it or just the plain downspout that mounts to the bottom of the barrel? https://www.bossbuck.com/products/parts/lids.html

I would definitely do the internal funnel, but I'm not sure I'd drop $25 on a pre-made one. My feeders have a homemade funnel cut out of some galvanized tin. Does the job perfectly with only a few bucks invested.

Have this feeder and it hasn't failed. Academy sells the funnels for $20 and they work better than the metal ones we have.
