I will one day perfect the true Kolache, and in my world there really there's only one, the CREAM CHEESE. I won't stop at West anymore as I feel like I'm buying a loaf of bread with a dash of fruit. Originally from Needville area, still a few crazy Czechs around. I don't like stopping there because parking is a pain in the [censored] and the restrooms are iffy, having a 15 month old we like to only stop where it's nice and clean. Go to the Slovaceks across the hiway, good bakery, clean restrooms, plenty of parking

Lately I have been going to Gerik's behind the Czech Stop.

We now stop there, just sucks that their kolaches aren't that great.

I don't think a poopy seed kolache would sell well. They are my favorite I doubt it very seriously. Poppy seed maybe. I will now have to change my vote, didn't catch it either

If they are closed, I'll buy Slovaceks. Czeck Stop is horrible. I'd be ashamed to call what they sell a kolache.

In Rowena Texas there was a grocery store that was owned by a Czech family. The owners, the Pavlicek's were friends of my grandparents, it was treat to be spoiled by Mrs Pavlicek. I think her and the few other Czech families that lived in the area were responsible for teaching every woman for miles how to make kolaches.

Stopped at Slovaceks on way to San Antone...that's going to be my new favorite stop. Kolaches were amazing, huge parking area, even have a dog park I believe. Got a little of everything and they were all badarse. There were zero lines however I will say we went through on a Thursday about 2pm. Overall I'd stop there again and again and next time will probably only order every fruit/cream cheese combo one I hadn't stopped to get kolaches in a few years, but I don't remember ever seeing options for like Strawberry/cream cheese or apple/cream cheese..I just remembered either fruit or cream cheese ones. Anyway, Slovaceks is definitely legit.

This man knows his kolaches. I haven't stopped at Czech Stop since I discovered Village Bakery several years ago. The quality and flavor is immensely better at the Village Bakery. Slovaceks will do in a pinch if I am passing through in the evening when the Village Bakery isn't open, but I doubt I will ever step foot in the Czech Stop again.

Man I sure do like some Kolaches from Greens, their ham and cheese is where it's at!! I am not able to get them often because usually I'm there after hours dropping off a deer or picking a deer up on Sunday when the front is closed.
