I am curious if anyone has any experience with the new bad buggie, specifically the Ambush. I am looking at purchasing one and don't know anyone that has one. I like the fact that they can be gas or electric but it sure is a lot of money. Any help would be appreciated

I can't comment on that specific one, but my cousin had an earlier version he absolutely loved. That love lasted till the rains came and he had to deal with that thick gummy Louisiana mud. The Bad Boy couldn't sling the mud off the tires, so the batteries ran down fast, leaving him stuck.

So, I'm thinking that you are in the sandy Texas mud or in a mostly dry area, you'll be fine.

What the Cuz and I liked was how quiet that thing was.

Good info about gumbo mud and battery drainage.

battery powered + 4 wheel drive + mud = low battery life. Mud will suck the life out of them fast.

The ambush the OP is asking about has a gas motor and an electric motor. The gas motor charges the batteries as well.

I have one, its a decent machine, ground clearance is an issue, brakes are terrible and have worn out already, batteries are a little over a year old and need to be replaced, I like the quietness of it so it helps me overlook the negatives, the gas engine has plenty of power, the other thing I don't like is there are a lot of cables and wires that hang underneath(poor design)if your using in brushy areas, constantly having to zip tie them back to the frame-Overall the vehicle is a great concept, not sure if I would buy another one however.

If it'll sling that Louisiana gumbo mud off the tires, it should be worth having.

They are really nice machines actually... tough and you would be surprised what they can do... its when you need to get them worked on is the headache... be sure you have a good respectable dealer near you

Love the concept but have heard some bad stories about problems and expense when stuff breaks. That's always kept me from pulling the trigger.
