Just got set up. Haven't been here since thanksgiving. Hogs were not coming through then other than a few lone boars here and there. Which was odd because you could always count on taking a hog home for meat. Two of my cameras crapped out on me but good hog signs everywhere. My one camera that was working showed last pic of a hog February 8th. I'm feeling optimistic about seeing some and figure I've got about a 50/50 chance of getting one based on the rooting and tracks iam seeing. Not using thermal or night vision but am hunting under baited sites with feeder lights and red spotlights if necessary. Gonna hunt the whole night and possibly tomorrow night and will post if anything happens.

Not much yet. Heard some loud squealing by the pond right at dark. Was warm up here today so makes sense they went to the pond early. Didn't check that area but will tomorrow.

Not much luck all night. Woke this morning and heard some squealing to the south of me. Decided to walk over and check the area. Didn't see anything so started walking back to the truck and spotted a sounder about 50 yards past the truck but I was still about 500 yards away so they got a free pass. Checked the camera on the west side of the property and sure enough hogs came in so that is where I'll sit tonight. Couple pics of the ones that came in last night. Couple lone boars and a small sounder.

He came in twice yesterday. Once at 2:30 am then again right before daylight. Bottom of the varmit cage is exactly 3ft off the ground. I'm figuring he is in the 250lb range possibly bigger

Had a bunch of mule and whitetails come in early but no hogs. Heavy and I mean heavy fog rolled in at 2:00am. 20-maybe50 yard visibility. Fog was still heavy by morning and still no hogs. Figured chances were slim with low visibility but not like I could pack up and leave because I'd be driving about 10mph till it lifted. So decided to stay and hope some would come directly in front of us. Well the guns with the scopes were to wet to even see through so decided to use the AR with the red dot sight, even though that wasn't much better. As luck would have it the big boar came through about 7:45 and was just at the edge of visibility. Couldn't really get the sight lined up perfectly but fired off two rounds before he ran over the hill. Neither one connected and we sat for awhile longer without any luck. Added some more corn to my feeder and proceeded to get stuff ready to go home when we're heard some rustling on the other side of the ridge then heard hogs grunting and figured they would come straight down the trail right to us. They decided to head south and we tried to head them off but they were gone by the time we made it over. Only bad part of the trip is no hog meat but the good news is there are still some in the area. I know some may say why would you be happy about hogs on your property but I for one enjoy the meat and year round sport they provide. They don't bother the deer much and don't cause much damage to our property other than some rooting here and there. I will give it another go during turkey season in hopes of filling the freezer on some delicious meat
