My huntin buddy is having a hard time scheduling with me for a spring hog hunt ! What are the draw backs to a late fall early winter Hog hunt ???

on my place
now til June - excellent, lots of pregant sows, then piglets, moving all day
March - usually see new boars, big ones
July - Aug - very good, bigger hogs, piglets in eating size
sept - nov - slow
Dec - Jan - good

I hunt them year around on my lease. The hog hunting helps me justify the cost of my lease.

You can try those days of the week, but they are no better than SSMT!What MM is saying is that there is no bad time to be hunting hogs. We hunt them year 'round. Late fall is a little more difficult as hogs don't come to feeders as much with all the mast on the ground, so you have to change tactics a bit. You can't be killing hogs if you aren't hunting. As a buddy of mine says, sometimes you just got to shut up and hunt.
