Had a visitor at the ranch this morning captured on one of my cellular cameras. Looks like this lion may be collared, I'll have to look at the card picture, this is a low resolution picture that was sent to my phone.

Great picture. With that resolution and with movement, it might just be a shadow instead of a collar.

Looks like just a shadow. there is some shadowing on its back just back from the shoulder as well. Either way you can take the collar off after you shoot it if needed.

looks like a shadow rather than a collar. still would be a pretty awesome mount as ive only ever seen one and that was on a trail cam a few years ago

Saw one in Nevada mule deer hunting in 1980, could have killed very easily at 50 yards and cat didn't see me. rifle

Mtn lions are fair game in Texas. Usually not illegal to shoot collared animals, they would like the collar back for the data it collected. Usually have some contact info on them.
