But it cant be all that bad,,, i ranked third in our club out of 30 shooters...

I have killed more hogs with Ruger 10/22 than I can count. It is all about shot placement.

As mentioned above, shot placement and shot distance. Wouldn't try shooting anything over 100 yards with that, and maybe that is pushing it, don't know. Shot placement is key with .223/5.56, so make sure you are putting down a good neck shot, otherwise, don't expect much unless its a small hog.

Of course we want a after-action report, so make sure and fill us all in!

Bipod on an AR pistol, mid range scope, none of it makes any sense. Only way you could use it is if you illegally placed the forearm strap on your shoulder otherwise you would just be spraying and praying. Would be better off with a shotgun.

It is only illegal if you get caught,,, and i dont use my shoulder i use only a cheek weld. And as far as the bipod i only use it to zero the weapon off of my tail gate and a chair its easy to remove....

Take a quick look at how you set this "pistol" up. Everything about it screams sbr. I don't mind ar pistols but come on. This is the crap that will bet them banned.

You are probably going to be below 2000fps with 73gr 223 loads. I have chromo'd M855 and it was getting close to 2200 out of a 7.5". You will be shooting an ice pick at those velocities. Not ideal, but its a free country use what you want. With a 7" barrel I think a 300BLK/7.62x39 would work way better on hogs.

Did you use it in the pistol portion of a carbine match? Most require a carbine to be a carbine in the rules, it would be impossible to compete in a real carbine match with something like that not being shouldered....

The weapons you mentioned are clearly handguns no doubt about it, the only difference between an AR pistol and an SBR is the type of stock. Big difference.

Yes it is the normal configuration and i use it in competition but just a week ago added the red dot. Its lightning fast to maneuver for close up stuff 5 feet to fifty yards..... at 100 yards and beyond i use a super light 16" pencil barreled rifle !

bc I've shot an AR pistol and it wasn't very efficient for anything other than close range CQB type stuff. Why not pay 200 dollars and SBR it and make it a much better weapon system?

a 4 inch group? Thats horrible and I mean horrible. I've shot 1 moa at 100 yds with SBR and red dot. I don't want to hit within 4 inches of where I aim I want to hit where I aim.

If a 4 inch group at 100 works for you then so be it but I will never own a rifle that shoots 4 in groups at 100.

I have the Holson HS503 G I love the auto off after 15 min and the auto on with any movement and the acss rectical....oh and the 55,000 hour battery life.

If i need sniper accuracy i will use my 1992 20 " eagle arms action master, 5 shot 200 yards 5/8 inch group (all time best)
or i will use my Daniel Defense 16 inch DDM4V5 1/2 moa / 77 gr match ammo

Here is the only group I can find a pic of with the red dot. The bottom right was the last shot I I knew I pulled it but that was the best that day. It's tough with no magnification. The black diamond is 1 inch and target was 100 yds.

Ok i will agree with you,,,, my little seven inch will never shoot as good as your 10.5 but also consider this,,, i am shooting cheapo 55 Mil spec FMJs and even cheaper Berrys 55 FMJs also barrel is a cheapo PSA barrel...While you are shooting a much higher grade barrel and ammo,,,, Thus 4 " at 100 is good....and as i said before it will do what i need it to do.

You have to do one of two things (or both) to make it an SBR !

1- Add a pistol grip to the forend !
2-Add an rifle butt stock to it.

I'm not going to enter into all the bickering. But I will say, going hog hunting with an SBR pistol in 223 where you "cheek" mount it to shoot it, will not be a very accurate method of shooting. Where shot placement is vital with a 223, I don't see this doing it. With an undergunned 223 in a short 7" barrel, with this set up, would not be one I would recommend. But, if you can make it work, go for it. If you are inside of 20 yards, it might work. But not my ideal weapon for hog hunting.
