Yes, sika. Go shoot him...NOW! But, noticing your sig line, you might have to break your standards and pick up a rifle. They don't dilly-dally around a feeder and give you several shot presentations, from what I remember when I was around them.

Good luck, he's a nice one. Best thing about sika is that they taste as good as an elk!!!

That's a red stag. He's too big to be a Sika. Look at him next to the feeder and fence. Easily 400 lbs plus. Ive shot both and we have Sikas on our place. Sikas aren't much bigger than a whitetail.

Stag or elk. Too small to be sika. Dybowskis get about as big as stags but his antlers aren't like Dybowskis' are.

Antlers and shagginess on neck make me think stag. Size makes me think elk.

Ground check him and we'll find out grin

It sure looks like a Sika but like other have said. But that would be the biggest Sika I have ever seen. Also when you look at the antlers I am leaning toward and Elk/stag.

I'm guessing red stag. Far too big to be a Sika.

The dybowski sika I shot was over 300lbs, looked similar to this just bigger antlers

Also could be a sika/elk cross

Choot it and figure it out in daylight. Any of the guesses so far will taste very good on the table.

My guess is red deer or a hybrid red deer/elk and not very old about 2.5 going on 3 years

I also estimated it to weigh about 400. When I read all about the Sikas online I thought the antlers looked very similar.

A sika rack looks exactly like a red stag or elk 4 point (one side).

Its a red stag. I know you'd rather shoot a monster sika instead of a baby stag but that's not the case here.

It is not a red stag.

What's your reasoning?
It's too big to be a sika. The nose is too long and the face is not like a sika.
It's either a red stag or some hybrid? Are you confident enough and have enough experience to tell us which hybrid? Tell us why you think it's not a red stag.
I purchased Sika 20 years ago and have added different strains over the years. I am confident it's not a Sika.

It's not elk, there is no color variation around the butt, it is all the same color.

The antler formation is like a sitka, but its size pushes into a stag.
Soooo..... it's a sitag!
