I need some help. Is this a good deal or not. A local dealer is selling these. I've talked him down to $2,100. AN/PVS-7 with autogated ITT image intensifier -Infrared technology for total darkness situations. -Auto off when flipped up on helmet -Auto off in bright light situations. GEN 3 ITT Helmet and mount LIF lens Sacrificial lens Daylight lens cover Demist shields Pelican Case

Makes my neck hurt just thinking about walking around with that on my helmet. You can get a entry level handheld Thermal for less, that will let you see a whole lot more game than those will. Basic Thermal vs NV.

You could if the RDS has a NV setting.
I use a PVS-14 on a helmet and love it, I think it would be better for getting around than thermal.

A quick check on the Internet for vendors who sale PVS-7 indicates you are getting a good deal at 2100 for what is pictured.
