Most people say they don't have much luck finding sheds in East Texas but I was lucky enough today to find the fresh sheds of a nice buck I made a bad shot on during bow season. I tracked him half a mile till the blood quit and was absolutely devastated and could only hope the buck would survive. Luckily, I got pics of him on my trail cam a few weeks later and stumbled over these today!!!

That's pretty wild. A proper ending to this story would be to kill him this year. Get after it.

I've killed a few that I lost the season before. It's a common possiblity. Killed two this season that way. One three seasons ago lost and one from last season. I hunt alot and most would hollar bull. Glad they believe you. Human error or any technicallity can cost you an animal. Hunting wild jumpy animals is not always flawless. I find most of my east tx. sheds after March 7. He may get bigger next season. One thing I have noticed about a once shot deer is that they may change their home travel. Get real real hard to find and kill. Turns them almost ghostly. If you know the deer and it's characteristics, you'll know it is him when he steps out. Then the aging, comparing, and old wounds can be found. Closure.
Recently got a gym membership, strange folks! I like to show up the roid zombies with my full motion curls with the 55lb. bells. Not their cheater short stroked light weights. It's holarious.
