Wondering what you guys think are the best of the best in scopes with turrets?
I have a couple huskemaws, night forces, and a Schitte Bender.
They all have different qualities I like just wondering what else is out there that may be better.
Thanks
Trackman

I have a Minox ZP5 5-25, and my buddy has a Vortex AMG and a S&B PMII. I've spent a decent amount of time behind a Vortex Razor Gen 2. They are all outstanding. The Minox is on par with the Schmidt and Bender. The Razor series is excellent as well, but in terms of glass is just behind top tier. They are better than their going rate indicates, but they aren't quite on par with the $3k range. The Sig Tango 6 series is nice as well. They've got good glass, and the levelplex feature is pretty awesome. Nightforce ATACR, is also pretty great, but to my eye lacks in terms of reticle selection. The 7-35 is a great product, though.

That being said, I finally got to look through a Tangent Theta at Shot Show. Now I see what the buzz is about. That glass is amazing.

Tangent Theta is the best overall scope I've owned/handled.

I can't honestly say it's the best glass I own now even but it's my go to scope.

If I didn't have a switch barrel rifle then I'd probably never have bought it as I am happy with my Razor II.

Glass package, mostly. Not sure what kind of voodoo they're doing, but it seems to be working.

exceptional glass
tracking is superb
zero stop turrets with tool-less re-zero is stupid easy

Kinda. Half of premier went to tangent theta. Other half went optronika supposedly which was bought out by minox.

Ok. It looked like a Premier scope. I had heard they were bought and some company was revising their scopes.

I'll have to check that out. Have you compared it to a Razor Gen II?

Supposedly TT bought Premier's assets. But the TT scope itself has totally be revamped. Some features may seem the same, tooless zero and MTC turrets, but mechanically different.

About the only thing better about the vortex is the reticle if you aren't fond of the TT offering.

I have a few Swarovski and zeiss as well as a few vortex and NF. I like them all it just depends on what I am doing. I like the Glass on the Swaro and Zeiss. I like the FFP on the NF and Vortex. I dont think you can go wrong with any of the high end scopes. If it is for hunting I go for glass and for targets shooting I go FFP NF.

Does anyone know if there is someone cutting or rather burning ballistic turrets for the Tangent Theta? If so let me know please.

Why would you want the turret burned?

Ballistic turrets are inherently unreliable. Doubt anybody is doing that to a $4k+ scope.

They're more okay if you're shooting inside of 400yds or so. Most calibers have (very ballpark) similar trajectory out to about that distance. That's the reason that most ballistic compensating/reticle scopes are at the cheaper end of optics. They're marketed toward people who need to hit the boiler room on a critter, and probably won't consider a 400yd+ shot. Generally speaking, the threshold for what's "reasonably priced" for that type of shooter is a lot lower than for the guy who's shooting out to trans-sonic on a regular basis. The latter is who the $2k+ scope is marketing to. If you're shooting over 500yds, you'll be better off just guessing than using a ballistic turret or reticle. That's more or less the threshold at which atmospherics, BCs, muzzle velocity, powder temp, etc all starting coming into play. At that point, a static ballistic reticle or turret is going to be 100% useless, because your ballistics can change dramatically throughout the day, to the point of missing the target.

Been looking at those Tangent Theta scopes. They sound like the real deal.
