Okay guys, these Nitto Trail Grapplers I'm running are almost done for. I liked these tires while I had them in their prime tread lol. They were aggressive at the deer lease, and when I was tearing up the back roads in East Texas. I need to start looking for some new tires. I kind of want something that more hwy friendly, but still can tear through some mud during hunting season. These east Texas roads get sloppy, especially my deer lease. I don't have a fourwheeler right now so I'm relying on my daily driver at the moment. What good all-terrain or mud-terrain tires can get me better tread life than those Nittos did, but will also compare to their off-road action. I just think the Nittos trail grapplers are not the best if you are on hwy more than in the woods. They look good but I need my daily hwy tires, that still prove unbeaten offroad when I need them.

I looked at those today online a bit. A lot of good reviews on there.

I have the Toyo AT and liked them for the first 20K, but am not happy with the traction on wet roads now and I don't expect to get much more than 40-45K on them. I had the Cooper AT3 on a previous truck and loved them. Will probably go back to those.

I got 60k out of my last set and 60 previous set of Toyo AT(xt and regular). I switched to 18x9 rims this round and went with 35x12.5 tires. Wanted more side wall..45psi up front and 40 rear has made a huge difference in ride on gravel roads and hwy. will see how long these last

Look at the Kelly Safari TSR. AT tire that is dang near a mud tire. Gotten me out of some serious mud at the deer lease and ride pretty good.

IMO you are not going to get anywhere near the trail grapplers off road performance and get decent highway performance at the same time. I know, I used to have the trail grapplers and I loved them too. I ended up getting the cooper ST maxx to replace the trail grapplers. Even though they do not have the same off road performance as the nittos, they have better than expected off road performance for an all terrain. The ST maxx have pretty wide tread gaps for an AT, so they still do pretty good in the mud. I used them all of this hunting season, and have about 18,000 miles on them so far.

I had the Ttail Grapplers when I switched from the BFG AT thinking I needed a more aggressive tread. I have gone back to the BFG AT2, love it. Never got stuck this past deer season, and if you know my truck, that's damn impressive. Haven't had a flat either, I drive over the cactus and mesquites and it hasn't bothered the tires

Field tested and beached whale approved is saying something.

My buddy has some Toyo At's and he has had them things forever on his truck. They still look like they have decent tread life. I just don't know how well they work off-road. Man I'm stumped haha. I might be doing a rim/tire package though, so I'm going to look at a few sites to see what combos they have. I'm moving up to 35's from 34's, and these 20 inch rims I have a positive 18 offset that is rubbing. I have a 4 inch lift so with 35's I think I can get away with a -18 offset or -12 offset.

I'll second the RTs. I'm on my 3rd set of Toyos and probably wont be switching to another brand. First two sets were 35x12.50-17 MT and I got 45k out of each set. All still had enough tread left for inspection so I sold them for a couple hundo.

This 3rd set of Toyos I went with the RT like BOBO. Don't get me wrong, the MTs were awesome offroad but I got tired of the MT hum on the highway, even in a diesel. Same size as above, but only around 2k miles on them so far and I've been very pleased. Great highway manners and I've had them in deep sugar sand, rocks, and a few deep mudholes on different leases and so far so good.

I'm running a set of Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac on my Ram 1500 4x4 right now. They are certainly aggressive, and are decent on the highway. I like them off road a lot. My favorite tire was the Michelin AT-2. It had the best ride and gave decent off road grip. I will probably go back to this tire after these Good Years.

I did package also. Moving from 20" rim to 18" was a massive improvement on ride.

I have load range E not P however out of 8 possible tires four of them have separated. Will NOT ever by Michelins again..... Period, good traction and resistant sidewall if the tread could just stay together....

Ordered my set of Cooper SST Pro's today along with new rims. Hope to have level kit and new wheels on for this weekend's hunt in East Texas.

I have decided to go with BFG A/T KO2 and stick with my twenty's. I'm going I'm with a 36 in tire but will have an -12 to -18 offset on my rims to assure no rubbing. I think that combo will be good for what I want out of a tire. I'm on the hwy every week to work, but on the weekends or days I have off and I'm in the woods, according to reviews they'll help me get through slop. I don't intentionally go through big holes. I avoid them, but Sometimes my deer lease road get pretty wet sometimes. Its not deep much...deepest hole I went through on the lease was on the highline I hunt. The Hemi power and the Nitto Trail Grapplers proved victorious through it. I just don't like those situations and avoid them at all cost, but sometimes you have to.

I don't know about you but I had a set of the bfg a/ts on an older 2wd cummins and that thing would get stuck in wet grass, literally. I realize it was a heavy truck and only 2wd, but still. Great tires for on the road and dry ground, but any moisture, forget it.

While bfg at's aren't my favorite I think they are good tires. What keeps me from liking them more is they are THE big name and you pay for the name more than the tire.

I have gotten many 2 wd trucks stuck in wet grass or at least had traction issues on wet grass. Trucks are light in the rear and wet grass is slick!

Well shoot...I might just get some cheap mud tires like atturo trail blades m/t's or Federal Couragia's...or I might end back with Nittos Trail Grapplers. All of these tires yall are listing are getting bad reviews. I wouldn't know what to go with.

I hit the paper websites etc. find the cheapest set of name brand (goodyear, bfg, bridgestone etc.) tires in the size and load range I'm looking for and buy them. With proper rotation and inflation I haven't found one to be better than any of the others since I started driving and I put about 40-50k miles a year.

I found a site that will give me a good package deal on some atturo trail blade m/t's with some rims... I might give into that.
