The last weekend of muzzle loader season ( jan 15). I checked my cameras and saw several bucks that have already lost both or one side. I would post a pic but cant figure out how to do it on photobucket now a days---they changed something with it
Anyways, this year has been a very strange one. I saw bucks chasing doe and coupled up with them in mid August. A doe we shot Thanksgiving weekend had a fetus in her approx 5" long. In December most scrapes were unattended indefinitley were usually they will slack off for a week or 2 then they will start attending them again around Christmas.
Its been a weird season this year for east texas

About now we can start shed hunting before the critters beat us to the calcium source.

Saw a medium sized buck in north San Antonio this afternoon that was sans antlers.
It has been a weird year all around...

Have seen them shed from the end of December to late April, most in Feb and March though
All depends on the deer

Gonna try my best this year to do some scouting national forest land while also looking for sheds! Can't hurt anything

My brother and I had to stop and let 8 bucks cross the county road this morning. They were all carrying both antlers here in Mills County. I was surprised to see that many running together this early in the year.

Are you on a HF ranch? The free rangers I hunt dont shed till mid march.
Recently got a gym membership, strange folks! I like to show up the roid zombies with my full motion curls with the 55lb. bells. Not their cheater short stroked light weights. It's holarious.

Saw more bucks in one sitting in mid January then I saw all year long. They are all grouped up in Coryell county.
