Had some buds come down for a 4 day duck slaughter. The guys were from Houston, Michigan, Minnesota & Wyoming and a cousin from North Dakota. Had some great hunts, had some marginal hunts, but all in all we had a ball, all of us shot firsts and everyone shot birds that are going on the wall. I call that a successful week
Day one we set up wrong. Had to choose between spot A and spot B that were about a mile apart. We had decent action, but had we chose spot B, we woulda been covered up in pins, teal and wigeon. My cousin and my Michigan buddy all shot their first mature drake bwt, which is something you'll never see up north

Total for the day. One of the bwt was in the freezer already

Day 2 was a diver Beatdown on the bay. Usually it's mainly reds, with a couple scaup and maybe some buffs or pins mixed in. We shot all our reds (a few hens didn't make the pic), dumped 7 drake scaup out of a flock and had 3 flocks of buffies, one with about 50 birds, buzz the end of the line at about 60 yards

Day 3 we went to my pintail/wigeon spot. This area has been lights out all year for me, but I heard it got hit really hard over the weekend so we let it rest for a couple days. Sadly the most of the birds were gone or moved on to a different spot about 1/2 mile away. We ended up shooting 1 shy of our pin limit, a couple shovelers and a nice drake wigeon

Day 4, we decided to hire a guide to put us on some teal and maybe a mottled or two. Good call. We ended up shooting a 5 man limit of bwt, gwt, gads, ringers and the 4 OOSers all shot mottleds. I even shot my perfect bwt drake that is in the freezer now. Sadly I had to leave early so we weren't able to get a pic of all of our birds together. This is my second year "guiding" different groups of my Yankee buddies down here. Maybe I need to start charging em... cool

Great pics man...those guys owe you big time.

I've had friends & in-laws down from Ohio several times and I think about charging a 'guide fee' whenever we crush them.
