Has anyone bought a pup from Charlie Rose recently? If so how did he turn out?
My wife has been on me to get a Shorthair pup and I may give in.
I also would like to know if anyone has gotten a pup from Anderson Gun Dogs in Olney.
Both of these these kennels are close to me.

A friend of mine bought a male pup from mr rose this summer. Sorry to say that he hasn't really done anything with the pup yet, except overfeed it. It's the biggest GSP I've ever seen. I'd say its at least 80 lbs or more. I've still got mine I bought from him. She's 13.5 yo.

I have one that is about to be 2. She is a bird finding machine. So far she has shown a tendency to get away from me every once in awhile. I have to pay close attention and call her back in. but very good dog and good personality.

Charlie Rose knows how to produce quality pups.
A friend purchased a pup from Charlie, admittedly years ago, but brother, what a dog he turned into. The best I have ever been around...That is the truth..
Later, I watched as a 10 month old female completed her Master Hunter title.
'Nuff said.

The male "Buck" will run as big as you let him, that son of a gun will run all day, find birds, hold birds, pick up birds in his mouth and run with them. Lol! The female was running with NBHA dogs this summer with Justin Crook, she has a hell of a nose! The only thing I can say is, they are 100% bird dogs!

I've read on here i believe that he is hard to deal with with. I talked to someone through a forum that had one of his pups and he said he received his pup covered in fleas and that the pup did pretty well hunting wise but that there were better choices out there. Am in the market myself and it doesn't sound like what I want as I am a foot hunter.
I wouldn't limit myself to just who is the closest. There's tons of great gsps out there.
I'll take a Black Female every time.

When I got her from Charlie she was 12 weeks old and running free in a 5 acre pen. And she was not covered in fleas

My dog didn't have any fleas either. She was a little ball of fire!

Check out Rio Concho Kennels in San Angelo. I've never had one of his pups but I have seen their dogs during a few trials. I was pretty impressed, If I were in the market for a GSP I would give them a hard look.

My friend that was on my lease group got one from Charlie (been 11 years ago). It was a nice bird finder with good stamina (not much natural retrieve and wanted to fight every dog it was around), but my dad went with my buddy to pick it up and same deal on Charlie...a little quirky to deal with. It was about 8 mos old and seemed skiddish around people like it had been mishandled, but snapped out of that pretty quick, maybe thats where it got its temper from as it had a rough childhood
