I bought one of those RAR's on closeout from Wally for a ridiculous low price, and since deer season is basically over, I thought I'd start working up loads for it. It is topped with a SS 3-9 HD MQ.

I'm really interested in loads for Hornady 105HPBT, as well as Nosler 95 BT's. Much appreciated.

You "might" have a problem with 105s in that rifle. I've heard that from a few owners.

Our Ruger shoots 95 Berger Classic Hunters (not the VLD) extremely well. Might be worth a try.

Been loading 100 grain sierras in my savage 243 for the past two years. 40.0 grains of IMR-4350 has been my most consistent so far.

Is there any way to make win 748 work in a 100gr projectile for 243?

I use 42.0 grains of H414(W760) with my 95g NBT. I got it from an old Layne Simpson article... It was one of his favorite recipes. It makes 3031 FPS (IIRC) out of my R700. A healthy dose of IMR4350 shot just as well. I will probably go to that load once I shoot up all of my H414 in an effort to somewhat consolidate powders.

Regardless of what you'll read/hear about the NBTs, that particular one is extremely impressive on deer and hogs, both.

It might work, but I would expect velocities to be dismal. W760 would be a better burn rate for that bullet weight.

I have a gen 1 RPR in .243. It shoots sub 1/2 moa with 42.8 grns of H4831 topped with a 105 grn berger hunting vld. I use WLR primers and velocity will be around 3000 fps. Hope this is helpful.

I find cup and core bullets perform much more to my liking at a muzzle velocity of 2500-2600 fps. At those speeds I see much less core separation and completely fragmented bullets when compared to 3000+ fps and the like. For 200 yards and in hunting its all you need, case life is longer etc.

95 gr SST, Nosler brass, CCI primer, 35 gr Varget. Half inch groups out of M700.

I know its not the bullet you are asking about but we have been shooting the 85gr Sierra HBBT in our .243s and by far the best accuracy we have ever gotten(shooting 1/2 groups out of my savage 110) max load of h4350 the 85gr sierra proved itself on 2 whitetails and a hog this year
