Trapped a big boar last year and shot him point blank in the head and right between the eyes and the slug flattend out on his skull. needless to say he was really pissed off! Sure u can use a 22 but had way to many times on quick shots that the hog didnt drop. I use my 6.8 ar now. I also forgot that i shot the hog with my 45 in the trap.

If you can only use rimfire, I would consider the 40-50gr 22 Magnum loads.

I shot many this size with the WMR back in the day, usually one shot kills at about 50-75 yards.



These were the best loads if I recall were the 50gr and 40gr Gold Dot



I had good results with 17HMR with the XTP bullets, here is a recovered one.



This piggie fell to a Winchester 40gr sub out of the Lil Badger, but I wouldn't chance it again. It was all I had at the moment, 25yards in the head.
