Was driving through junction today and in light of the recent heresy against coopers by some here stating that Lums was the better Q I thought I'd stop by Lums and see if they had in fact changed their technique and improved to the point they could actually challenge junction cooper's elite status in the world of BBQ.
To make it fair I ordered the exact same sliced beef with pickles and onions that is my standard at coopers.
Re-enforced the fact that there are many THF members whose BBQ acumen is challenged if not completely stunted.
Meat was tender, and plenty, but tasteless. Almost as tasteless as Rudy's.
PSA: if you find yourself touting the the quality of any barbeque over coopers in junction... Do yourself a favor and go concentrate on a task you would be more successful at. Like grading mascara or lip gloss. Leave the manly duties like BBQ and chili judging to the men who aren't as metrosexical as you!!!!

So nobody but you is allowed to have an opinion?

So nobody but you is allowed to have an opinion? You certainly can have an opinion other than mine. But if it's about BBQ being better than coopers your opinion is embarrassing...

I used to think of you as one that was above all the rest on knowing everything. But I have come to the conclusion you know "SQUAT" about BBQ.

I don't understand how anyone can get all worked up about a piece of sliced brisket. It all taste about the same to me. I prefer pulled pork, ribs, or even chicken

Ribs only come two ways. Good and better. They are a lot like sex. The worst I ever had was wonderful.

Rancher. if you ever want to know what real BBQ is supposed to taste like go to Heavys in Hondo. On Hwy. 90 in the middle of town. You will throw rocks at all the others after eating there. In fact the Wife and I dined there yesterday. Outstanding

I've had the same sliced brisket sandwich twice at Cooper's in Junction, I wont go back. Both times is was tough and gristly. I've eaten at 2 other Coopers, Mason and New Braunfels, they were better than Junction. But not the best I've ever had.

A lot like Rudy's. My son and his New Mexico buds love that nasty stuff. But it ain't que. It ain't nothin close to que.

After eating Heavys BBQ you will probably sell all your other places and move to Hondo.

If it wasn't for Wal-Mart, Heavys,Herman Sons, Mumme's and L&E I probably would very seldom be there.

Are the burgers at Short Stop in London still as good as they were 20 years ago?
