What's a good place to purchase or to find a used Remington 700 .30-06 or .308 with a 20" barrel for sale? My son is wanting one for his birthday so was wondering what would be a good place (or places) to start my search for one. I live in the Fort Worth area. Is there a listing for gun dealers or shops that would carry used rifles?

G'Yup ...best place to find what you want is GB for sure.
EX: Just looked 10 minutes ago at a used Winchester M770 30'06, which is the blind magazine no frills pushfeed series from some years back. It has a walnut stock and a fresh TruOil hand rubbed finish..and is currently at a $375 bid...and is tempting... until I remember The Goal is to Downsize the # of shooters, or at least commonize the # of calibers to lessen the number of calibers I need to stock the reloading bench for.

I would check out the area pawn shops. Usually a selection of deer rifles after deer season and about a month after the Christmas bills start coming in...good luck
