I have a 6.5x55 on the way and am looking to start building some loads. I picked up some 130gr. swift scirroccos on sale to start playing with. I haven't picked up the brass yet (interesting thread here on PRVI) but am curious if there are any suggestions out there. I will likely play with the ELD-X as well as I have liked that bullet in my 300WM.
Thanks.

You get rid of it, Dan? I thought you got that rifle drilling holes.

Sold it and my 300 win mag I took to your class. But ended up with a 338 lapua and a Crux can and swfa glass which I like a lot better.

Plus I built a sbr blk out and picked up a ir defense ir reap thermal so I'm set. But I do miss the 6.5 lol

Lapua brass
140gr Partition
Federal 210M
46.5gr Re22

That gets me 3/4" at 2700fps with my Tikka. Had similar results with my CZ550.

There used to be a guy on GB from Europe who sold 100 count lots of Norma brass at a very good price. He had access to a ton of it. I got some and was very pleased... Might look at that.

I've loaded the ELD-X with H4350

45 grains was good for 2660
45.5 was good for 2710

Lapua brass, 3.1 COL. Measured from a Magnetospeed.

This thread really shows how case geometry can really change things, most particularly, velocity! Look at everyone's powder charge, and reported velocity.

I'm my experience, the .260 makes more velocity, with less powder. Then go to the 6.5 Creedmoor, and it makes more velocity than the 6.5X55, with even less of the exact same powder.

Of course, I could be completely wrong if everyone is running significantly short barrels. No one has reported barrel length and twist rate.

When I first bought a T3 swede, I found a One Caliber spiral binder Load Manual and loaded a couple samples of several bullet sizes. Very quickly I got spoiled with the Sierra 120gr GK's over an Accuracy Load from the Sierra bullet page of ? 47+gr's of RL19 & WLR's in tired range pickup junk that opened up a scootch the more I shot them, or Lapua brass I bought when I got serious about the caliber...and found that I could put a blank piece of typing paper on the back stop, shoot a 1 round Hole for a target...and then slowly eat out that One Round Hole for as long as I wanted to....just never went past another 19 rounds though. No muss no fuss just a boringly accurate confidence builder of a load that hammered WTails at box blind set up distances.

I had some older 140gr Hrn Sp's that took a little ladderwork that I started really too slow with using 3 different powders and never got quite the same level of 120's same One Hole'ness accuracy, but were showing promise the faster I ran them.

130gr AB's were my next best grouping bullet and again I never fully explored the necessary powder combinations, much less seating depth yadda yadda load tuning tricks to get the same Accuracy as the right off the page on the 1st try, loads with the 120 gr Sierra's.

Today for a Hunting Load in a T3 Swede I'd only shoot the 120gr & 129/130 gr bullets for on WTails. Always wanted to try the 123gr Scenars and 125gr Partitions & longer distances with better glass than my old Burris 3x9x40 too....and why the current T3 260 wears a Minox ZA5 HD 2x10x50 for a Hunting scope.

This was all done at 100 yrds or under when my local 200 yard range was closed by Order of Grayson County, and I did not want to have to drive to Decatur from Texoma to shoot.

Must be sold. I'm a sucker for Swedes and 308s.
