Just wondering because up until the last two weeks we were hunting in northern Montague Co. and seeing between 10-15 does every hunt. Now that we're in the doe/spike season our does have just about disappeared. Always waiting for the big one, not shooting does, now that we want to they've gone nocturnal or something.
Just wondering how it's going for everyone else these last few days??

Muzzleloader season where I'm at. Gonna be headed out tomorrow, really just looking to bag one or two more does before the season is out. Haven't seen many does at all this season. Lots of good looking young bucks still showing up though.

I'll be out at the ranch starting tomorrow night. I'm after an old buck. I'll do what it takes.

If you want some friendly advice, get a haircut and take a bath. You wouldn't get hassled so much.

Just returned from the lease. Bucks are all grouped up again. Young bucks still chasing does. Secondary rut leftovers. Does look seriously rutted down. Bucks are half the size they were.

Time for protein.

Baylor county.

Headed out at noon today...we have a Muzzleloader season in Navarro this year for the first time. Going to hunt this evening and Saturday. Saturday evening will be my last deer hunt for the season. I'm sad, wife is happy, lol!

Seeing very few whitetail.

Lots of axis though

Saw some ducks on the tank today so that's where my attention is focused now

I plan on heading out Sunday morning if weather permits since the early playoff game was moved to Sunday night.

I know, the 8 pt I shot New Years Eve had lost a lot of weight since I first saw him at the beginning of season.

We are out in the soup this evening. Hoping my son can connect on a buck. Been steady drizzle with off and on rain showers since we got here. Supposed to clear up pretty quick. Much cooler than forecast, 34 going to 29 by end of hunting. This will be our last try. Should see something tonight just don't know if the boys will
Be out eating with the girls.

Good luck everyone up

The wife has started feeding our two dogs raw, venison meat balls in an effort to get my Blue Lacy to stop itching. We've tried everything else and I have her a new vet appointment on Tuesday.

She's wanting me to go to our place and shoot 3 does. My back is gonna take a week to recover from the cleaning. 'Jury's still out on who's will will prevail. It'll be "eleventh hour" tomorrow afternoon/evening. I'm just old enough to detest shooting does. Maybe it'll be raining "cats and dogs".

In the blind near Falfurrias. Duval County. Really Windy. No movement what soever. Hoping to see something move. Last weekend for bucks here. Have not seen a buck in two weeks but keeping hopes up.

My son and I were in the blind yesterday for our last hunt this season. Didn't see any deer, but he dropped a 100 lb sow.

Thanks,
Rich
