Eh, ain't nothing wrong with Hornady brass, just takes more work the first time loaded.

I get that the Lapua takes a SR primer, and lasts who knows how long? But I've got 6 loadings on my Hornady brass, and the primer pockets are still fine.

Hornady is ok if you don't load max loads, the primer pockets will fail fast if you do. Nosler/Norma 6.5 CM brass is good to use,if you can find it.
The Lapua brass will probably have a good black market when it comes to market, that stuff is never going to be in stock long.

Yea the Nosler stuff is very consistent within the box you get but not sure from box to box as I have not checked. It's doesn't seem to last any longer than Hornady from what I have seen.

I am at 43 grain h-4350 and lost about half of the hornady brass due to the primer pockets but still have 500 new brass that I have not opened yet. These have been loaded 5 times

Alpha brass is really nice and comparable to Lapua in quality. I have a few friends running it with good luck.

I wasn't knocking Hornady. Mine is doing just fine and with "warm" loads I am getting 6-7 loads before I have to toss it. But there is no doubt that Lapua is better stuff. I load the Creedmoor for accuracy, and better brass consistency is always going to be a good thing.

No argument. I was just trying to make you feel better about your recent 500 piece Hornady purchase.

Ain't my load, Buzz.

That load works in just about every 6.5 Creedmoor on the planet. Give me a new barrel, and I'll test from 42.0 to 43.0 gr, it'll shoot somewhere in there.

^^^^^

If it won't shoot somewhere right in there, it is definitely the exception and not the rule.

cheers

I don't feel bad about it. It wasn't a recent purchase. I bought it in late 2015 and that was all that was available. I knew that sooner or later Lapua would get it out there, but I wasn't willing to wait for it. Impatience is always a problem for me. wink
