Read in the other post about the new world record non-typical. Crazy big deer.
Does anyone else wonder if it is a pure native wild, and always has been un-influenced by man/science deer? or is there a breeder farm just down the road?
Not to take away from his deer in the slightest, just seems that deer breeders are so common place it wouldn't be a hard stretch. Again not saying I believe that to be the case just a thought.

In the 4 years I've owned my place in Bellville outside of Houston (note: not an area exactly known for big deer), I've seen a double-split mainbeam 4yr old that scored 154, a gnarly, weird buck with like 20 short points, and one of my neighbors found a locked up dead buck with 4 drop tines. They weren't long, but all over an inch.
There are no HF or breeders around us at all. Just some really whacky genetics in our area. My only point is that it only has to happen 1 time anywhere in the nation with tens of millions of deer running around.
I can see it happening naturally with the right breeding.

Brady buck killed in South Texas in 1892, highly doubt it was fed protein or in a high fence Fulton buck killed in Mississippi in 1996 no high fence in the area and killed pretty close to national forest land Those are 2 former world records

I think the deer from Tennessee is legit. A lot of times if there is anything fishy going on, it normally comes out pretty quick. It's a shame that there are so many deer like that one killed off of high fences now, that we automatically question a natural one.

I can see it happening naturally with the right breeding. agreed. the little spot i lease is in a big bottom of about 2500-3000 acres, with houses and highways in all directions, so we tend to see the same deer year after year. between myself and the 7-8 neighbors i know, we usually have around 10 mature bucks on camera every year, and very few are ever what i would call "clean." this year we had a big 11 (6x5) and a nice 8 that i would call clean, every other mature deer was at least 10pts and had kickers, splits, or some sort of NT tine, many of them have more than one of these NT features. the deer below in my sig is an example, he was extremely old and went from a 10 in 2014 to a 12 in 2015, but he has inlines and kickers. there are a few other areas around us that have similar genetics, with very few "typical" framed mature deer, and its strange, because i have hunted places before that we very rarely, if ever, saw any type of "nontypical" points on the bucks. but i can also see your point, i read through a bunch of the comments on the alabama facebook page about that alabama deer, mainly for the entertainment value, but there was a guy that lived in the small town that was defending the legitimacy of the buck by saying that there werent even any breeders around there and 2 guys corrected him and gave the names of 2 different operations just outside of that town.

If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

Add several years of AR, the quality of our deer heard is exploding! I've hunted the NT area for the last 25 years and in the last 5 years, I've seen more BIG deer than in the last 20 combined!

SW that Is a reproduction of the rack mounted on another deer, the actual one is in San Antonio in the buckhorn hall of horns. It stood for 90+ years IIRC as the #1 non-typical in the Boone and Crockett book

Bet the sausage taste the same as a doe!
I Feed Indian Corn. The deer love it and all the colors make them stay at the feeder longer.

I also believe that the native genetics and food can produce those deer. I have seen a couple come from places I would never believe had I not seen them.

A friend of mine bow hunts 100 acres just outside city limits, surrounded by houses and small farms. This is one of the bigger East Texas cities that most people would know of. There are no high fences anywhere around there for miles, but there are two non typicals that he has been getting pictures of for the last three years that just keep getting bigger every year. He has never seen these two bucks in daylight. The owner of the land has never seen them during daylight. And as far as they know, nobody has ever seen these two bucks during daylight. They have never found the drops either. If it wasn't for a couple trail cam pictures, they wouldn't know they existed. From the pictures I've seen, they are massive with points going everywhere, in every direction.
My friend and the land owner have shot a few good bucks with some non typical points, but nothing compared to the two they are wanting. I guess they are offspring of those two, but not as smart.
Maybe ten years ago, close to where I'm at just North of Tyler, in an area with quite a few housing developments mixed in with small farms, a very large, heavy, non typical was run over by a car. It was so big that it made the evening news for several days.

I like the story and that just a regular local dude knew about the deer, hunted him, and got him.

I met the guy and actually held the rack recently. He is a great guy and very humble the story is legit there have been several bucks killed in a 10 mile circle of the place that show the same characteristics. What was interesting was the fact the buck was only 31/2 and didn't have any front teeth.

LF deer will continue to grow larger. With partial high fencing, high protein food plots, protein feeders, mineral blocks, water tanks, etc. It is only a matter of time before aggressive LF hunters feed bucks to new world records.

The Tennessee NT is a legit free range deer. A good friend of mine, Bill Cooper, who is retired from the Georgia Fish and Game and a B&C scorer who also writes for North American Whitetail has spoken to the folks at the Fish and Game in TN and the story checks out. The deer has to be officially scored by a B&C panel that will meet in 2019 to be officially crowned the new WR. So you have the 2018 season to try anmd top him
