After months of planning I am mere hours away from marking a true "bucket list" animal off the list. On Monday morning I fly into Au8stin Texas to meet up with Ryan Longer for an American buffalo (bison) hunt. I have dreamed of taking a bison since I was a very young boy sharing time at the gun club with my grandfather. I have been blessed to have been able to hunt many great places and several species over the last several years, but this will be a special adventure. Plus my hunting partner (with slightly deeper pockets) is going to be trying to take a white bison! Being able to share his adventure while achieving my own dream will make for special memories for sure. I will post photos as soon as we get back home.

Just landed in Austin. Waiting to hook up with my partner. Couple hours of driving a much anticipated nap and shower and let the adventure begin. Thank you to everyone for the support I will keep you posted as best I can. I am blessed to have a wife that supports my crazy hobbies. I only wish she could have joined me, but she will be back here in Oct and that will be all her time to shine!

I would like to do this but would like to do it with a 45.70 Quigley gun.

We have had one heck of an adventure SO FAR I have not been able to get on the web much and will post a bunch of photos when I get home, but my hunting partner has taken 2 amazing animals today. He took a stunning Watusi this morning and then this afternoon he took a BEAUTIFUL white Buffalo (American Bison). He took both animals with a big bore 45cal airgun.

He killed those with an airgun?

How many pumps does it take to kill a cow? I remember it always took at least 7 to kill a pigeon.

Oh my! My first thought is..... How many freezers does your partner have at home and how big are his walls?? That's a lot of meat on the hoof! Second thought is remembering the White Buffalo bar at the Gage Hotel in Marathon, Texas. That's the first white buffalo I've ever seen..... This one is the second! Congrats!

My hunting partner drove down. We boned everything out and he had hauled 2 freezer and a generator. We just bagged it and loaded it in freezers. It is in transit as I type
