CZ will finally be chambering some of the 527 mini-mauser rifles in 6.5 Grendel. Guess the introduction of a boltaction Grendel by Howa last year got them to go ahead with something that has been requested by their customers for about 8 years. I see it is listed on their website in the American and Rustic models

Hope they addressed there bolt root issue...hate how high you have to mount the scopes on the CZ.

There is still some issue there Ed but they did address it a little with a different shape on the bolt aka like James Calhoon offers with his 19 caliber conversions which helps

That is great news! I have always wanted to build one but just haven't had the time. Will be looking for when they hit the market. They ought to sell a ton of them.

Kinda like that they have them in 7.62x39.

Might have to try one.

No, what you need is $25 to pay for a membership instead of spamming your way to 101 posts thinking you'd be allowed to post in the classifieds now..

Maximizing performance with high BC 6.5mm bullets in the AR-15 platform..... I get it.

Putting it in a bolt action when you could be sending those same bullets with a lot more velocity? I don't get that.

Just wondering if you like and have a 26 Nosler or 264 Win Mag? If not you are leaving performance on the table for 6.5 diameter bullets. If you are a fan of the medium velocity 6.5s you are not getting all you can from those same bullets either.

I'll add that the M527 is a dandy little rifle to shoot and carry. Chambering it in the 6.5 G is icing on the cake. The low recoil and decent performance will make this rifle a great choice for youth or women alike.

Most hunters shoot 100-200 yards max at a feeder. And some people don't like unnecessary recoil, me included. I started with a 243 and went up the ladder to a 300 WSM and then back down again to the 243. It does all I could ask for and I shoot it really well. The Grendel in a bolt would be a sweet little rig and one my kids could start out with for deer.

Your kid couldn't start with a .243? I got mine at age 10.

Well of course they could. Is your argument against the 6.5G or against all new cartriges all together?

I would prefer a 6.5G, bigger bullet with less recoil and plenty of umph to get the job done within normal hunting ranges.
