So this Christmas I got a new foxpro inferno with remote and rodent jack adapter. I have never hunted yotes before or really any bobcats, fox in general. I am looking for pointers on how to hunt these critters. Sounds? Set ups? daily times and time of the year. I also just had a mountain lion show up on the neighbors game camera, so I am up for any type of advice.

Sneak into an area, place the call where you can see down wind of the call, play a rabbit in distress sound, sit real still with weapon pointed generally down wind of your call and watch, keep movement down to a minimum, get hooked on varmint calling.

Not many things in the hunting world compare to seeing a coyote or a bobcat coming to a call. It is a thrill like no other.

one thing to remember is cats will come in very slow from my experience . some guys will call for 30 minunites and then move to another location . if you want cats sit tight and give them time to mozzie in . fox will blast right on in pretty fast and yoties will try to circle it to get wind first . hope this helps.

Yes, keep an eye out in every direction, some critters will just show up with no regard to the wind, I think it depends on when they had their last meal . My first time to use a fox pro, a 416b, I put the call out in a mesquite tree about 50 yards out in front of a tower deer stand, got in the stand and turned the call on, looked all over, the heavy brush was about 100-150 yards away, kept searching the edges. Knew there were coyotes, foxes and bobcats in the area, kept searching the edges, finally decided to take a look at the call in tree and there is a fox standing on his hind legs sniffing the call, I was hooked for sure.

thanks for the advice, I had a funny experience the other day with it. I set the foxpro down in some bottoms and I set up next to a tree about 100 yards away and started playing the dying rabbit call. Next thing I know, the neighbors horses and cows came running full blast to see what was going on and protect the rabbit. I turned off the call and waited for abut 10 mins, the animals had moved on and once that dying rabbit started playing they came right back along with the neighbor wondering why his horses and cows were all worked up lol
