Not sure that I would bother with rings that needed an insert. I'd have a hard time trusting that. I'd just buy some 1" rings.

Burris Zee rings are meant to work with an insert no matter if they are 1" or 30mm specific. They work great actually and give a really tight hold without marking up the scope. Plus, no need to lap the rings which is the best part.

I just mounted a scope with Burris Zee rings. Mine were so oily out of the package. I gave them a good cleaning before I mounted them. Did you clean them at all? That oil could cause the inserts to slip out.

I know they have a channel in the ring to lock that insert in.

I'll tell you, I had a hard time getting the eye relief right because the scope does not move even if the rings are halfway tight. They are great rings for the money when locked down but a little annoying when mounting.

Yes I always wipe them down with denatured alcohol.

I leave the light coat of oil on them. I think it helps them to seat properly and will prevent rust under the rings.

Zee Signatures are great if you're paranoid about ring marks or if you have a dimensional issue of some kind. You can use the offset inserts to compensate for cattywhumpus receiver drilling and other problems. The inserts WILL hold the scope very well.

Ding Ding!

My savage was not drilled and tapped true from the factory, I used these rings to mound my scope.

I had to torque the ring caps 3 times to get it where the reticle was level/plum, but past that have no complaints with them what so ever.

I use about 20 sets of these rings, they are the only rings that I will use anymore. I never had any issues with them at all, other than finding them in stock when I need them.

I really like them too and have heard great reviews. Just wondering if everyone else has a hard time keeping them lined up when torquing. lad to see more people using them. Any issues with high recoil rifles? My largest rifle is a 280.rem, and also have them on a 20gauge slug gun.

I used them on my 338 lapua. My issue with the rings is the method they attach to the rail, the ring to scope interface is an excellent design. They are not designed to move from one rail to another.
