I had Jeff Woodard (backwoods taxidermy) attempt to do a bobcat. I wouldn’t walk, I’d run away. The cost for my bobcat was $750 - he took a $400 deposit, he didn’t refund. I have included the pic on the day I killed the cat and the second at his shop of what he attempted to pawn off as a cat mount. He’s terrible and was a complete [censored] about him ruining a great looking cat. Pics attached, see for yourself! [img:left] https://ibb.co/hQ6K77[/img] [img:left] https://ibb.co/dmn3Zn[/img]

That's really disappointing to see a bobcat mounted like that. While most of them look pretty bad, yours looks like it was intentionally done to look like a cartoon character!!!

Always, always, always visit the taxidermist and look at his CURRENT work! Accuracy comes with experience and training, obviously not all have done their homework, however with all the great professional taxidermists in Texas there really is no excuse for not doing your homework. I've been a professional taxidermist for over thirty years and most wildlife artists including me, mount game according to ones training, experience, and desire to perform our very best work, regardless of species, financial gain, or notoriety. I really regret your mount was not accurate, but you are responsible for your homework. DC

Cats are tough... I've seen more bad than good. With that said, some taxidermist are good at them - several on here. As stated above, cats require some major investigating prior to picking a taxidermist. My brother had one of the worst bobcat mounts I've ever seen. It is still a family joke.

Yes, yes, yes I won’t deny blame here. I was not in my usual hunting grounds, didn’t have access to a freezer and made a rush decision to try to preserve best possible. I post for others doing homework and so they may learn from my mistakes. Hope this helps someone out there... BG
