Lr 308. Killed my first deer with it a few years ago,now my girlfriend killed her first deer with it this season.

Knocked a few down this year with my 7mm WSM. Pushing a 180gr VLD with 63.1gr of RL-22.

A little better lighting, but not much better. I'm bad about getting good action shot. It's normally a "hurry up and take a couple pics, then get cleaned" kind of deal.




Shot this pig with my Sig P226 MK25 at about 20 yards.

This year I used an AR308 with a 20" barrel, that I built myself. I started it with an APF lower and upper and finished off with too many custom parts to list. Decided just to take a whitetail doe this year, for meat, and because there are tons of them on my family's place in Round Top. I fed my rifle Hornady 150 gr American Whitetails. One shot did the job, at 230 yards. I caught the doe angling away, through both lungs, and she dropped on the spot, kicked twice and that was all she wrote.

A whole whack of porcupines and coons with my 1958 12 gauge A5 magnum.

I used a couple different rifles this season. Last one was my Marlin 1895 45-70. Used it to "Overkill" a Blackbuck Doe, 144 yard shot.

Been a very good and blessed year! Savage 6.5 creedmoor did quite a bit of work in the hill country and S TX. Very impressed with this rifle and round (all were DRT!). My wife's white fallow doe, javelina, first S TX wt buck, and my axis doe, javelina, first bobcat and largest S TX buck to date!








Also broke in my custom LR-708 with a hog and my wife's bruiser boar.

6.8 SPC AR15 SBR with a can, Steiner 1-4x24 Military optic. Shot my biggest WT to date, several hogs and a bobcat. Ammo was Hornady 120 gr SST.

wow some of these deer are tiny...anyway hunted with .22-250, 7mm-08, various .308s bolt action and AR frames, Ars in .223, 30-06, .270, and my favorite .257 Roberts....,killed a helluva lot of hogs, a few coyotes and a mediocre 12 point buck.

Great year hunting Alaska. My first bull moose for me (54") and two of my girls each took their first caribou, one cow and one nice bull.

Remington 700. 300 win mag 150 grain nosler ballistic tips.

Wilson Combat 308 178 Amax loads from Chad.

Hunted with a kampfeld custom in 300 wsm. Shot 8 year old 164" ten point

2016 was a good year for my 280 Ackley with 168 Berger VLDs @2800 fps

I only started hunting deer about 20 years ago with a Win model '94AE in 30-30win
my wife bought for me as a Christmas gift. I use 150 gr Winchester Power Points.
To this day that's the only rifle I've ever killed a deer with including 1 doe this season.
My son also killed a doe with his Savage Axis 243win. Also with Win Power Point, 100gr.
I know, we're just boring like that.

Every year I think I want to upgrade. Then every deer I shoot dies a quick death.

Unless one comes back to life I guess I'll just keep this dang rifle and keep buying
cartridges off the shelf at Academy.
There's something to be said for efficiency, economy and predictable results.

Browning .25-06. I was always tempted to grab something else out of the safe when headed to the ranch, but it is just too sweet and has never let me down.
