Bring me up to speed quickly on corn feeders (or just tell me what to buy). I've never had one but next year I thought I would put one on my sister's place which is 4 hours away. So, I need one that will hold a lot of corn, is very dependable, and has a set up for solar-powered recharging of the battery.

I'm not going to be able to build a pen around this feeder but fortunately there are no livestock involved. I want a broadcast feeder, right? How long do I program the feeder to run?

The most important thing if you are not going to be at it very often is make it coon proof. If there is such a thing.

I just looked at the 300 pound stand and fill All Season Feeder. It looks like a quality unit. How long before the season do I need to start running it? How much corn do you sling a day?

Go bigger than 300. Depending on your deer population, expect to sling 50-100lbs a week. Yes you want a broadcast feeder, how long you run it depends on how many deer eat

Call Texas Direct Hunting www.texasdirecthunting.com and talk to Brandon they sell some high capacity feeders for a reasonable price and they will even drive it out there for you and set it up for you. They will treat you right. I had them put together my 4x8 blind with a 5ft tower, deliver it to the land and set it up for me when I was still recovering from back surgery. Since then I have been giving them my business and they have always been good to me. Hope this helps you out.

1. Get the 600 pound. It doesn't cost that much more--maybe $100.
2. So far my ASF Stand and Fill has been cow-proof, hog-proof, and racoon-proof. However, it is definitely not squirrel proof.

Run it for 5 seconds with the thought in mind some throw more corn than others. I feed all year like others but do cut it back in the spring. get a stand and fill for sure, so much easier.

Got the HB ez reach and All Seasons stand and fill.

I like both, but prefer the HB. Heavier built and will probably last longer...

Seen some really nice feeders from Ramball and others here on the forum. Always good to support the local guys!!

Definitely get the largest capacity you can afford!

Alamo is hog, coon and squirrel proof built like a tank. Throws out the best because there is no cage around it that piles up your corn around the bottom. Great price and customer service. Contact RSThomas on here.

I've owned almost all the ones mentioned above and this one is the best.
