This summer I will be traveling to Colorado and staying in/near a National Park in the mountains. So I figured it would be good to check Colorado carry laws. This one seemed a little odd to me: Colorado law also allows a person to possess a handgun in a dwelling, place of business, or automobile. However, when you carry the weapon into your home, business, hotel room, etc. it must be in plain view. Local jurisdictions may not enact laws that restrict a person's ability to travel with a weapon. [C.R.S. 18-12-105.6] So every time I walk into my hotel room/cabin/etc., I have to pull the gun out and display it?
It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

Seems like a stupid, unenforceable law. I will have to ask the next LEO I see to get some clarification. I certainly don't have my handgun in plain view when I walk into a business or my home.
