Slept in and didn't go.....at first. Moved from the bed to the couch and let the dog out but she wanted right back in, she didn't want her toy. She'd paw me wanting birds. She knows my schedule and today was our hub day. Every third day. So I loaded her up and the gear and knew of a pond we could jump. A long walk in and a short sneak over the dam I see a mallard drake lift off followed by the hen shoot and drop both. The two Gads are trying to get out over the tank dam, I got one round left and drop the back bird 3 for 3. Once I recover from the pandemonium. The drake is alive swimming the hen fell hard on the bank and the gad was somewhere on the bank as well. The dog is after the drake, he dives and hides. She hits the bank and finds the hen gad. Then the hen mallard on a blind. Now the mallard drake is still lost. I wait as she runs around on the bank waiting for him to pop up only to see her running through the bush with drake in mouth. It's then only when I flip them over to grab a leg to haul them out I see the BLiNG. The hoopin and holalering starts.

Yeah not a real duck hunter getting there 4 hours early setting out 47 decoys to perfection, shooting them at twenty three and one half yards feet down with 2 3/4 #6

I can't believe that. I'm 64, hunted all my life and have never shot a banded bird. You sleep in, then drag a_ _ up to go and shoot another one.hammer
LOL, oh well, good job, and safe hunting my fellow Aggie !
