Well, I would say overall it’s a good read if you’re a John Wayne fan. There are some less than flattering things in the book, but also a lot of interesting information you may or may not already know. One thing I noticed is a couple of areas of self-serving things. The main one was repeatedly making the point that the problems between her and Duke’s kids from his first marriage weren’t her fault (I don’t know if they were or not), and the other was a need to talk about all of her hobnobbing with celebrities and royalty. I’m a huge John Wayne fan, so it was interesting reading about some of the behind the scenes stuff involved in his movies and family life.
